Published date 31 August 2023
Have your blonde and balayage clients returned from their summer holidays in need of a hair refresh?
With the colour-correcting power of magi:gloss, you can magic away any unwanted orange or yellow tones, creating a range of beautiful blonde hues.
Don’t forget to customise your gloss to create a warm, natural blonde or platinum, icy blonde shade depending on your client’s look.
Let’s take a closer look at the stunning ‘Champagne Lustre’ look as part of the magi:gloss launch collection.
With Zoe, the Quif Art Team wanted to achieve a soft beige tone so the combination of Natural and Ash Gold was perfect for neutralising warmth and creating a soft champagne tone to her beautiful blonde look.
Claire Severn from the Quif Art Team says “What I love about Zoe’s look is the texture that the multi-depth blondes bring to her hair and by creating a darker root we added dimension to give the illusion of volume to her style.”
As she was already a natural level 6, they highlighted her hair using a fine to medium-sized weave on every section using Magi:light Bond Enforcing Lightening Powder with 6%/20 volume developer.
After shampooing and roughly drying the hair, they then performed a micro root tap to add depth and dimension at the roots using Medium Natural Blonde (7N/7:0) mixed with 1:1.5 parts of Gloss Activator.
They then applied a combination of half Extra Light Natural Blonde (10N/10:0) with half Extra Light Ash Gold Blonde (10AG/10:13) mixed with 1:1.5 parts of Gloss Activator throughout the rest of the hair.
“We wanted a slightly warmer tone to compliment Zoe’s skin tone and used 10AG/10:13 which created this beautiful sandy beachy tone, perfect for her summer look” Claire adds.
As with all toners, the Quif Art Team visually develop until they could see the perfect tone.
They then rinsed and shampooed before towel drying and using a conditioner. “We always recommend using a colour-safe shampoo & conditioner such as Vivid Bloom from Shed to maximise colour vibrancy” Claire adds.
Artist top tip: Root tap with a darker colour for a more exaggerated look.
